FRAME is a living artwork. It is alive in the same moments that the viewer chooses to spend time with it. As the viewer loses interest - or perhaps needs to continue on his quest through the gallery, they are faced with the choice: Either remain with FRAME and keep it alive; or leave and let FRAME die once more... FRAME's viewer will see a green line flying across the surface of the classically framed LCD - not unlike a flatlining ECG (electrocardiograph). The intention is to draw viewers within range and as they approach, they will see that it is in fact a flatline - complete with the whining beep. However, once an invisible physical threshold is crossed, the flatline begins to flutter. The viewer's position effects the 'health' of FRAME. If a viewer is close enough, he/she will be FRAME's lifeline. However if the viewer chooses to leave, once he/she moves out of range, FRAME will die once more - and the analog death counter embedded in it - will increase by one.
SYSTEM:
Frame is made up of an LCD, a slim profile computer, speakers, customized electronics and of course a beautiful wooden frame.
